Locate the reservoir and check max/min mark.

Tell me how you would check that the brakes are working before starting a journey.

Brakes should not feel spongy or slack and should not pull to one side. Test as you set off.

What are the tell me questions?

You will be asked two questions. These are basic safety checks that a driver should carry out to ensure the vehicle is safe for use. Although some checks may involve opening the bonnet to identify where fluid levels would be checked, you will not be asked to touch a hot engine or physically check fluid levels.

Manufacturers guide book. Check with a gauge when cold including the spare.

Tell me how you make sure your head restraint is correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection in the event of a crash .

Adjusted so that the rigid part of restraint is at least as high as the eyes or top of the ears and as close to the back of the head as possible.

Tell me how you would check that the headlights and tail lights are working.

Explain that you would switch on lights, walk around vehicle and look.
